Festival Grove (Glorious Green!) Fountain Pen Ink : Ferris Wheel Press

I will admit that green is probably one of my least used fountain pen ink colors. It’s just not one of the first ink colors that come to my mind when picking an ink to buy or use. I think I have been missing out! Festival Grove is a new sparkling/shimmer ink from Ferris Wheel Press. It is a green ink with gold shimmer that I am now obsessed with using in my everyday fall writing!

I used 3 different types of paper including Onion Skin Journal, Tomoe River Paper, and Endless. The ink was a little more “watery” but only just.

Festival Grove has a lot of variation possibilities. So much so that after trying the ink in my fountain pen, I brought out a glass dip pen to try. I used my Sailor Pro Gear fountain pen with a zoom nib and the ink showed up as a mid to light green. The dip pen however allowed for such a dark green it was almost black! (A finer fountain pen stroke might show up darker as well.)

The overall quality of this ink reminds me of Roaring Patina Black in that there seems to be layers to the depth of the ink. I love this! Being able to really manipulate an ink without adding water or another ink allows for beautiful variations in writing. I find it so interesting that back in the day if an ink showed variation it would have been considered a poor quality ink. Now we love all of those possibilities in an ink!

Loving this ink was an unexpected delight! I may have nicknamed it “Glorious Green.”
