Roaring Patina Black Ink: Ferris Wheel Press

I will never be able to say enough about this ink except, PLEASE BRING IT BACK! Roaring Patina Black fountain pen ink was a limited edition release for 2022 from Ferris Wheel Press. I didn’t appreciate it enough when it was available. Lesson learned! If you love an ink, don’t set it free, buy several bottles and hoard that stuff!

I hadn’t used a shimmer ink before buying this bottle and honestly, had never intended to until I saw the presentation of this ink! It screamed 1920s with the bottle design and ink name and that was enough for me to give it a try.

Roaring Patina Black is a DEEP blue ink that has three distinct layers. If you let it split it had a deep blue base with a black sheen and gold shimmer. The shimmer is loaded in this ink and surprisingly resists smudging like a champ!

Even though this ink is not currently in circulation I highly recommend you watch my video to see its qualities. Perhaps Ferris Wheel Press will re-release! In the meantime If you would like to try something similar, Atlas Stationers collaborated with Ferris Wheel Press for an exclusive ink called “Atlas Iron Ore.” I had wanted to see what a silver shimmer would look like instead of Roaring Patina Black’s gold shimmer and it is a nice ink. It doesn’t quite pack the punch that RPB had for me personally but I use the “Atlas Iron Ore” regularly.

Roaring Patina Black became one of my favorite inks of all time. Why I didn’t buy several bottles when I had the chance I’ll never know! My naughty cats knocked over my only bottle and so my supply is quite low.

Did I Mention that Ferris Wheel Press has a Rewards Program?

I received free points just for signing up for the FWP loyalty program! It’s free to join, and there are so many ways to earn rewards! I’ve been using my points for gift cards so I can choose from the entire Ferris Wheel Press store for my free fountain pen goodies!
