Flex Book Notebook Review : Playing with Fountain Pen Inks

The Flex Book Notebooks are made in Greece, with the idea of being eco friendly and a joy to use. The spine design allows the covers to flex all the way around for ease of use. This notebook is supposed to hold up under a decent amount of abuse without falling apart.

This Flex Book cover is made from recycled cactus! It is made to feel like leather, an honestly does feel like a bonded leather.

I used my Pilot Vanishing Point with a Medium Nib (that writes more like a broad) and a J. Herbin Dip Pen. I used Noodler’s Ink Dark Matter and Ferris Wheel Press Festival Grove to test the paper, and ended up having a bit of fun by mixing the inks! I loved the results and I am definitely going to mix both of the inks in a fountain pen and try it out!

The inks mixed created this swampy green/black that when shoved around had intense variation. The gold shimmer added from the Festival Grove ink gave light to the depth in the ink. A fun experiment that I want to continue to play with!

The paper quality is nice. It holds up well to fountain pen inks and pens. It doesn’t have a luxury smooth feel but it in no way feels gritty. Lined paper tends to have a little more texture on average anyway.

The price point is fantastic for what the Flex Book Notebook offers!

Did I Mention that Ferris Wheel Press has a Rewards Program?

I received free points just for signing up for the FWP loyalty program! It’s free to join, and there are so many ways to earn rewards! I’ve been using my points for gift cards so I can choose from the entire Ferris Wheel Press store for my free fountain pen goodies!
