Book Haul! Lamplighter Publishing Vintage Reprints

I had the joy of getting to open this book order from Lamplighter Publishing! The order is for a local shop and so there are many duplicates in the order but the books themselves are gorgeous to look through!

I did have a pile for myself the shop made sure I would end up with and I am excited to add them to my collection! My mother gave me several of their books as a Christmas present when I was a young girl and I have been collecting them ever since!

I have been buying books from Lamplighter Publishing for decades. They reprint forgotten stories from the 1500s-1900s written by authors who were quite famous in their day. The authors (quite a few of which were women) were not as marketable through the centuries and the stories have since become a nuisance to the modernizing climate.

Lamplighter Publishing curates antique books they believe should still be in circulation and reproduce the rich detail in their reprints. New covers are designed with stunning embossing and foil artwork evocative of the stories era. The covers on these books alone are gorgeous to display!

The stories tend to have an underlying Christian theme as was popular for the era of original printing. The suggested reading ages are mentioned on the Lamplighter website. I read them all personally!

“A Lady of England” or A.L.O.E. is one of my favorite authors! The clarity she conveyed her stories with astounds me! And she wrote SO MANY BOOKS! She managed to write so many different themes, settings and perspectives. All while managing to make them interesting, entertaining, and good. If I had written just one of her books I would have considered myself quite accomplished and be happy. She settled for no such trifle!

They also offer a collection of audio dramas complete with a vocal introduction from John Rhys-Davies!
